Once a person enters the Soul Cairn, a part of his/her soul fades, and instead, a bit of Soul Cairn takes its place there, so once someone has been in the Soul Cairn, they can leave and come back there in free will, unless they were sucked in there by a Black Soul Gem, of course. They claim that it is a realm of Peace, Love and Prosperity, where people can live forever and they also can get everything they want. The Ideal Masters, however, say otherwise. The people that are stuck in the Soul Cairn are all the same, except dreaded by the misery of being in the Soul Cairn, as there is no escape and hope is but a means to an end. Necromancers usually sacrifice souls to the Ideal Masters, in order to recieve conjuration powers, like atronach summoning and raising the dead. Their realm is, obviously, Soul Cairn, where all people and creatures and the like go when they are soul trapped with a BLACK SOUL GEM.
Without souls they are weak, but for now they have quite a bit of souls. They are great tricksters, but their weakness is Souls. They are mostly known for granting wishes and bargains with Necromancers, that later come to regret the bargain, and usually, beg for death. They are Amethyst-Soul Gem-like floating Crystals that dot the landscape of Soul Cairn. I look forward to reading your responces.
The second part of this topic is what is your thoughts on them? What theories and ideas do you all have about who or what the Ideal Masters really are? Are they working for someone, if so who? However, Im curious if there is anymore lore out there about them? Have they ever been in any of the previous games or even mentioned? But who or what are the Ideal Masters? I have read the page, and understand they are supposed to be a mystery. (Although I still get a bit confused as to who is what, there are gods that aren't part of either group). I understand who the Daedric Princes are, and I understand who the Divines all are. Been playing it daily now for the last month and so in an attempt to understand the game world better I have been studing the lore of TES. Realizing that I was going to be waiting for a while for Fallout 4 I decided to try it out. I personally am not a huge fan of sword and sorcery type games, so when Skyrim first came out I wasn't interested. Ok before I begin I'd like to admit that I'm new to the whole TES lore and games.
